Registration Starts Next Month For 2015 CXC Exams

Registration for the Caribbean Examinations Council???s (CXC) May to June 2015 examinations will begin on Monday, November 3, and run until Friday, November 28, 2014.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, has advised that forms are available from its Examinations Section at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael. These may also be filled out online at http://mes.gov.bb. However, they should be downloaded and brought to the Section.

Persons registering should do so between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., from Monday to Friday and bring with them the relevant fees; their Barbados Identification Card, passport, driver???s licence or some form of picture identification along with a blue/black ink pen.

The Ministry is further reminding students that one CSEC subject costs $102.50 and an additional $36.50 must be paid for each additional subject. Also, one CAPE subject is $118.00 and an additional unit will be $52.00.??

All fees should be paid in cash to the Finance Section of the Ministry of Education.??Subject entries with a School Based Assessment (SBA) component will only be accepted from ???Re-sit Candidates???.

According to the Ministry, candidates should choose their subjects carefully to avoid having to write two or more papers concurrently. If this happens, no alternate arrangements will be made.

Individuals are also advised that clashes of subject papers with those of other examining bodies cannot be reconciled or adjusted by the Ministry. Candidates writing examinations with more than one examination body have therefore been advised to consult the timetables for the respective examinations before registering.

The Ministry advises, however, that late registration for CXC subjects will commence on Monday, January 5, 2015 and run until Friday, January 9, 2015.

For further information on matters related to registration and timetable, students should visit the CXC???s web page, www.cxc.org. There is also a link to this web page from http://mes.gov.bb.
