Service of Standards To Be Reviewed

The Fair Trading Commission (FTC) is reviewing the existing Standards of Service for the Barbados Light & Power (BL&P) and the landline services of Cable & Wireless (Barbados) Ltd. (C&W).

As a result, members of the public will have the opportunity to share their views and make recommendations on these Standards via email at info@ftc.gov.bb.

Consultation papers detailing the Commission???s proposed changes are available from the Commission???s offices at Good Hope, Green Hill, St. Michael, or from the website www.ftc.gov.bb.

The consultation period will end on Friday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Commission at telephone number 426-0260.

Randal Phillips Monthly Men???s Health Meeting

Parkinson???s disease will be the focus of the Randal Phillip Polyclinic???s monthly Men???s Health Meeting on Tuesday, November 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m. It will take place at the Polyclinic in Oistins, Christ Church.

Specialist in Geriatric and Internal Medicine, Dr. Ambrose Ramsay, will be the featured speaker at the event. Several issues will be tackled, including the signs and symptoms of this disease; whether it is associated with alcohol consumption; whether men are more affected than women; and ???Is there a link between Parkinson???s disease and Alzheimer???s????

Members of the public are invited to attend.
