Town Hall Meeting To Discuss Chikungunya

A town hall meeting to discuss the current chikungunya outbreak in Barbados and how residents should respond takes place at Restoration Ministries, Brittons Hill, St. Michael, on Wednesday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting has been organised by the Christ Church West and St. Michael South Central Constituency Councils, in collaboration with Restoration Ministries and the Ministry of Health. Residents in the area and all other interested persons are invited to attend.

Essay And Poster Competitions On Climate Change

Primary and secondary school students are invited to enter essay and poster competitions being sponsored by the Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organisation.

The theme is: Climate Change – The Human Health Impacts, and both the essay and poster should address the consequences or effects of climate change on human health. Entries will be judged on their message, originality, visual interpretation, technical execution and impact.

The target groups are primary school students, Classes Three and Four, and secondary school students, Forms One and Two; and Forms Three to Five. Teachers and education providers are encouraged to assist students in developing their ideas, particularly at the primary level.

All participating schools should package the students??? work and deliver entries to the Ministry of Health, ???Schools Poster Competition ??? Climate Change???, Project Manager, 3rd Floor, Frank Walcott Building, Culloden Road, St. Michael. The deadline for submissions is noon on Wednesday, December 31.

Closing Arguments To Convene Tuesday, November 18

Closing Arguments in respect of a Hearing of the Reference by the Barbados Broadcasting Service Limited and the Copyright Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Inc., will convene on Tuesday, November 18, in the Conference Room, 8th Floor, Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Facilitated through the International Business Division of the Ministry of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development and the Copyright Tribunal, the Hearing will be governed by the Copyright Tribunal Regulations, 2004, and heard by the said Tribunal.
