Public Health Laboratory Closed Tomorrow

The Public Health Laboratory at the Winston Scott Polyclinic, Jemmotts Lane, St Michael, will be closed to the public tomorrow between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., to allow staff to attend a meeting.

All patients who had appointments at the laboratory during those hours are asked to telephone the laboratory to reschedule.

Meanwhile, all other areas of the polyclinic will open as usual at 8:15 a.m. The Laboratory will re-open at 1:00 p.m.

Admission Of New Attorneys-At-Law

New attorneys-at-law will be admitted to the Bar during a full sitting of the Supreme Court of Barbados on Friday, October 17, in Supreme Court No. 1, at 2:00 p.m.

Schools To Collect BMEX Awards

Winners of The Schools’ Exhibits, displayed at BMEX 2014 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, will be awarded their prizes on Monday, October 6.

This is when the Media Resource Department holds a brief prize-giving ceremony in its Conference Room at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road St. Michael, at 10:00 a.m.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Senator Harcourt Husbands, will deliver the feature address, as well as present prizes to the schools.

District Emergency Organisations Monthly Meetings

Residents of St. Philip West and St. Philip North are invited to attend the monthly meetings of the District Emergency Organisations (DEO) for their respective areas.

On Monday, September 29, the DEO for St. Philip West will meet at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip, at 8:00 p.m. when former Fire Officer, Glenville Collins, will do a presentation on Fire Safety.

The following day, Tuesday, September 30, the St. Philip North DEO will meet at the St. Philip Primary School, Church Village, St. Philip, at 7:30 p.m.

Fire Officer, Henderson Patrick, will present on the topic: The Preparation of a Family Evacuation Plan. This will be followed by a question-and-answer segment. All are invited.
