Tsunami Discussion for Christ Church West Residents

Residents of districts within the Christ Church West constituency are invited to a presentation on Tsunamis this Saturday, September 14, at Hastings Rock, Christ Church beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The event is being hosted by the Constituency Council, and persons will have an opportunity to hear from representatives from the Department of Emergency Management and the Coastal Zone Management Unit.Following the presentation, there will be a karaoke session.


Media Resource Department Offering Training for Teachers

The Media Resource Centre within the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, is offering training in several areas to this island???s teachers.

These are: Desktop Publishing; Digital Photography in Education; Interactive Whiteboard (SMART Board); Prezi for Desktop; Puppetry; Technology in the Development of Instructional Media; The Production of Teaching Resources; and Video Camera and Video Editing.

Back To School

While teachers at public schools returned to the classroom last Monday, September 2, today Monday, September 9, was the first day of instruction for students following their nine-week summer recess.

According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Michaelmas term (Term I) will run for 14 weeks. It will end on Thursday, December 12, for students and on Friday, December 13, for teachers.

During the term, Teachers??? Professional Day will be held on Friday, October 18, however, there will be no midterm break.
