The Federal Republic of Germany???s Ambassador to Barbados, Dr. Lutz G??rgens, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, today in the Committee Room of Parliament.

The two officials discussed a number of issues related to climate change and its effect on Small Island Developing States, as well as the work of the CCRIF, formerly the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility, which was established to assist Caribbean countries affected by natural disasters.

Talks also centred on renewable energy.??Matters related to how the two countries could work together through multi-lateral agreements were also addressed. Barbados and Germany formally established diplomatic relations on March 14, 1967.
