Governor General, Sir Elliott Belgrave

Recipients of awards in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List will be presented with their Insignias by Governor General, Sir Elliott Belgrave, during a special ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24, at Government House, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

During the ceremony, cricket legend, Reverend Sir Wesley Winfield Hall, will officially receive the accolade of Knight Bachelor for service to sport and the community. In addition, those receiving the Commander of the Order of The British Empire (CBE) are: Reverend Oscar Holman Millar for services to the Methodist Church, education and the community; Rashid Orlando Marville for his contribution to the Foreign Service; and Dr. George Lincoln Reid for services to the financial sector.

Recipients of the Order of The British Empire (OBE) are: Senator Dr. Frances Louise Chandler for services to agriculture; Hensley Henderson Robinson for public service in the area of the electoral process; and Carolyn Adora Sinckler for services to education and sport.

Members of The Order of The British Empire (MBE) are: Collis Earl Blackman for services to labour relations and David Lionel Harding for services to the maritime industry.
