Government has once again pledged its continued commitment to the international business sector.

Minister of International Business and International Transport, George Hutson, last night welcomed investors and potential investors to Barbados during a reception hosted by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at Ilaro Court, where he reiterated government’s commitment to the growing sector.

Mr. Hutson said international business had played an increasingly important role in the economic development of Barbados over the last 25 years, and it was his pleasure to meet its members.

He added that last night’s function provided an opportunity for stakeholders, investors, practitioners and government officials to interact in an informal atmosphere and build on relationships between government and the private sector.

Among those in attendance were investors for the St. Joseph Hospital project and those persons who consider Barbados as an investment opportunity.

Barbados International Business Association President, Connie Smith, officials from Invest Barbados including President Wayne Kirton and other international business stakeholders were also in attendance at last night’s reception, which was also well attended by Government ministers.
