All Government offices and schools across the country will be closed next Wednesday, November 3, the date of the State Funeral for former Prime Minister, the Hon. David Thompson. ??This was announced today by the Cabinet Office.
The funeral service, which will take place at Kensington Oval, starting at 8:50 a.m., is expected to last about one and a half hours, and this will be followed by the interment at the St. John Parish Church.
It is expected that as many as 11,000 persons will be in attendance, as this nation bids farewell to its sixth Prime Minister in a traditional ceremony, marked with all the features befitting the office.
Those individuals, who are unable to get to Kensington Oval, may view the entire service which will be carried live on radio and television.
