Governor General Dame Sandra Mason will publicly take the Oxford- AstraZeneca vaccine.
This disclosure came today from Coordinator of the COVID Communications Unit, Ambassador Elizabeth Thompson, during a press conference, to discuss the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccines in Barbados.
Ambassador Thompson said: “So, we are going to get to see Dame Sandra Mason, Barbados’ Governor General, being vaccinated.”
Meanwhile, she reported to the country that Dame Sandra, who had recently gone into self-quarantine after a member of the household staff at Government House had tested positive for COVID-19, had now received two negative tests.
She continued: “Her Excellency Dame Sandra Mason is doing well…. She has been fully tested; is doing fine. Her tests are all negative.”
As a result of this incident, everyone was moved out of Government House to allow for the in-depth sanitising of the Governor General’s official residence.
