Over the past six weeks, approximately 40 parents of children from the Deacons Primary School have gathered at that school to participate in the R.E.A.C.H (Rebuild, Educate, Achieve, Commit, Hope) Parenting Programme 2014.

This intervention of the Student Support Services Unit (SSSU) of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, was in collaboration with UNICEF, through the Sandy Lane Primary School Counselling Programme (SLPSC).

The interactive workshops entailed a myriad of pertinent topics such as Unsuspected Dangers and How to Discuss Sensitive Topics with your Child.??Facilitators included Social Workers, Joann Hall and Joyann Eli; Child Care Board representative, Sandra Best; and Family Therapist Consultant, Joanne Devonish.

The main objective was to allow parents to network better with each other and with professionals in an effort to assist their children with presenting issues.??Monday, December 8, has been chosen as the culminating graduation and prize-giving ceremony of the R.E.A.C.H programme at the Deacons Primary School, St. Michael, at 5:00 p.m.
