Forty-five secondary school students will be graduating next week following their successful completion of a course in Adolescent Media Training conducted last year as part of the Schools??? Positive Behaviour Management Programme (SPBMP).

The graduation ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 30, at The St. Michael School, Martindale???s Road, St. Michael. It starts at 3:00 p.m. Students were drawn chiefly from 14 public schools and four private ones on the island.

During the course, there were two workshops being held concurrently. One was primarily aimed at allowing participants to produce videos highlighting children???s rights as part of the ???OneMinutesJr.?????? initiative. It was facilitated by Andrew Ward and Neil Sorhaindo.

The other workshop was aimed at developing leadership and communication skills in students through exposure to the various types of media and was facilitated by Julius Gittens and Lester Ifill. ??At the end of the two workshops, students were able to produce several high quality videos which will be shown during the ceremony.

Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ronald Jones and a representative from the United Nations Children???s Fund (UNICEF), are expected to address the event. Also in attendance will be other officials of the Education Ministry, UNICEF, principals of public and private secondary schools and parents of participants.
