Come November 12, Jubilee Gardens, the City, will come alive with music, when the fourth Annual Service of Song takes place there.

Twelve choirs, along with popular speechifiers, will be performing that evening as part of the celebrations marking Barbados’ 40th anniversary of Independence. It will be held under the theme “Barbados at 40: A Proud Past, A World Class Future”.

Participating will be: the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Ushers Choir; Alleluia Voices Chorale; the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Choir; Celestial Voices; the BRN Augmented Choir; the St. Stephen’s Community Choir; Barbados Overseas Resettlement Association Choir; Charles Hinds United Chorale; the Black Rock Polyclinic Diabetic Chorale; the St. John Ambulance Brigade Choir; the St. Joseph Augmented Choir; and the National Assistance Board Choir.

They will give renditions of hymns, psalms, negro spirituals and Bajan folk songs.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Reverend Joseph Atherley, will deliver remarks at the Service of Song.
