The Health and Safety Committee of the Grantley Adams Memorial School will host a Health Fair tomorrow, Thursday, November 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., under the theme: “Your Health is in Your Hands”.

Organiser of the event and Chairman of the school’s Health and Safety Committee, David Moseley, said the aim of the fair is to sensitize both teachers and students about some of the challenges of health and safety in the workplace and at school. He pointed out that it is also meant to get students and staff to take the initiative to look out for their health and surroundings.

A number of organizations will be present at the fair, including representatives from the Barbados Fire Service, St. John’s Ambulance Brigade, Republic Bank, Sagicor Insurance and the Royal Barbados Police Force. The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados will make a presentation on healthy eating and will conduct body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure checks.

There will also be an exercise session in the morning, in addition to Strong Boy and Fitness Girl competition, road tennis and traditional Bajan games.
