Environmentalists and arts lovers will be in for a treat over the next two weekends.

The Ministry of the Environment, in collaboration with ArtsEtc. , will be staging a two-part series of Green Readings to mark Environment Month under the theme ???Where’s your oasis?’?? .

The first reading will be held this Saturday, June 12, at 4:00 p.m. on the Hastings Boardwalk. ??Against the backdrop of cooling ocean breezes and the pounding surf,

popular writers Nailah Folami Imoja and Philip Nanton, will share the stage with Dorhonda Smith in performing environmentally-themed pieces.

Arts lovers in the north will not be left out, as the Green Readings will, for the first time, move to that part of the island.?? On Saturday, June 19 , beginning at?? 4:00 p.m. , the Speightstown Esplanade in St. Peter,?? will come alive ??with the works of?? popular writers Frank Gilkes, Johnny Koeiman and?? Kenneth "Jack" Lewis.

Barbadians are being encouraged to come out and support these artists who will all be focusing on the natural environment.

An interactive session at the end of the readings, will allow patrons to gain further insight into the artists as well as the motivation behind their works. ??Refreshments will also be provided.????cgaskin@barbados.gov.bb
