The Ministry of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship is reminding small businesses eligible for Government’s financial assistance during the national pause that there are strict guidelines that govern the operation of this programme.

In light of reports of some persons trying to cheat the system, the Ministry has advised that those found attempting to commit such an act, by applying multiple times for the financial assistance or by any other means, will be disqualified and may also face penalties.

Additionally, shops found breaching the Government directive to remain closed during the period will also be denied financial assistance.

Approved establishments under the programme will receive $750.00 a week, and other claimants $250.00 a week.

Applicants are reminded that applications are made online at https://barbados.seamlessdocs.com/f/smallbusinesssupport.

They must submit the information as stated on their identification cards correctly. The dash separating the digits of the number on the card should not be included. Applicants must also submit valid and active bank or credit union account numbers.

Approved applicants will be notified by email, and are advised that it could take up to three working days of receipt of the notification for the claimant’s account to be credited.
