Music lovers in Barbados have the opportunity to enjoy an evening of quality entertainment when Harrison College in collaboration with its Parent-Teachers??? Association presents Mosaic III, at the Frank Collymore Hall on March 19 and 20.

The event, which starts at 7:00 p.m., will be held under the patronage of Sir Paul Altman, who is a well-known supporter of the Arts, under the theme: Outside The Box.

It features an exciting lineup of performers including Nicholas Brancker, Spice & Co. and Sir Marston Gibson and the Tribute Band whose contribution will be a tribute to Barbados??? 50th Anniversary of Independence.

Also appearing will be Roger Gittens, whose skill as an arranger has been acknowledged and recognised.??The Mosaic Big Band as well as the school???s Pop and Steel bands; its orchestra and choir will also feature prominently while Master of Ceremonies will be Adrian ???Boo??? Husbands.

Last year, Mosaic II was held under the patronage of Emil Straker. The concert was deemed success, raising funds for the school???s sports and music programmes. These have since been utilised to provide covers for the cricket pitches; outfit all of the school???s football team, purchase hockey equipment as well as a new sound system. Funds raised from this year???s concert will be used similarly, assisting the newly formed HC???s Foundation for Creative and Sporting Excellence.

It is also anticipated that Mosaic III will continue to draw attention to the sport and music departments and the skills of Harrisonians, past and present. Chairman of the Mosaic Committee, Ayo Burrowes, in giving the rationale behind it, said: ???We want to continue building a rounded and gifted student at the school. This is a reputation HC once held, so we want to continue producing well-balanced students who are recognised not only for the academics.???

For further information on the event, members of the public may call Mosaic???s hotline number 255-3311.??
