A costume band portraying the linkages between health and culture!
This will be one of the highlights of Crop Over, when the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the National HIV/AIDS Commission (NHAC), puts its inaugural costume band on the road this year.
The name of the band is Image: We Health & We Culture and band leader/ designer is Dr. Ingrid Cumberbatch, Medical Officer of Health for the Winston Scott Polyclinic.
An official launch of the costume band is scheduled for this Saturday, June 18, at the band house located, at the old headquarters of the Ministry of Health, Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael.
Health Minister, Donville Inniss is expected to give brief remarks at the event, which starts at 7:00 p.m. and is free to the public.
Representatives from the NHAC will also be present and there will be the modelling of prototype costumes. The ceremony will be followed by a fete, where interested persons will be able to register with the band.
