Rodent bait will be distributed by the environmental health officers of the Vector Control Unit on Saturday, May 28, at the General Post Office Cheapside, Bridgetown.

The distribution of bait will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

It will be given free of charge to the public along with information on proper techniques for baiting and prevention methods against leptospirosis and the hanta virus, transmitted by these rodents.

The aim of the exercise is to significantly reduce the rodent population as well as to stem leptospirosis on the island.??????????????????

Meanwhile, the Ministry is reminding individuals that free rodent bait can also be obtained from its Distribution Centre, located at Jemmott’s Lane in St. Michael. It is also available at the following polyclinics: Warrens and Black Rock in St. Michael. Randall Philips, in Christ Church; Six Roads, St. Philip; Maurice Byer, St. Peter and Winston Scott, St. Michael. (JG/BGIS)
