A powerful archival piece of work that evokes nostalgia and pride will soon be in school libraries across the island.

Heritage Barbados, a book produced by Rasheed Boodhoo, in collaboration with Marcus Communications, will be launched on Monday, October 26, when over 180 copies are presented to Minister of Education, Ronald Jones, in a brief ceremony at the Media Resource Department (MRD).

The launch, which is part of the activities to mark Education Month, starts at 10:00 a.m. in MRD???s auditorium, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

The book, a pictorial journey of the island, is a celebration of all things Barbadian. It transcends generations and offers a glimpse of the past and appreciation of bygone times. Its photographs include the Barbados Landship, roasting breadfruit under a tree and old time rum shops.

Heritage Barbados will be presented to the Education Ministry for onward distribution to both private and public primary and secondary schools via the MRD. Each school is expected to get at least one copy of the book for its library.
