Everyone is invited to the Garrison Heritage Breakfast and Tour monthly excursion to Barbados??? UNESCO World Heritage Property: Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison.

The first tour will be held during Heritage Month on Sunday, June 29. Walkers will assemble at the Hilton Barbados, Needhams Point, St. Michael and depart for the two-hour trek at 7:30 a.m.

It will stop at the Clock Tower/Main Guard, the ancient cannons, the St. Ann???s Fort, Brigade House and the Barbados Museum and Historical Society.

Walkers will also visit the sites where the Barbados flag was raised, and where the island???s only living national hero, Sir Garfield Sobers, was knighted.

Persons on the tour will learn in an entertaining and intriguing way about the history of the Garrison, which not only dates back to the 1600s, but is also one of the only ???living??? Garrisons in the Western Hemisphere.

The journey will climax at 9:30 a.m. with a light but delicious Bajan breakfast at the picturesque and historic Charles Fort at the Hilton.

The monthly tour will be held the last Sunday of every month. It is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in collaboration with the Hilton Barbados Resort, The Barbados Museum and Historical Society and the National Cultural Foundation.
