This island’s rich culture will be on display on Saturday, November 26, when the Barbados Museum and Historical Society hosts an Independence Heritage Day at its Garrison, St. Michael, headquarters.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., visitors will get an opportunity to view and purchase handcrafted items such as baskets and wooden products, as well as batik and tie dye clothing. Local food, drink and confectionery will also be on sale.

There will also be guided tours to the Museum’s temporary exhibitions – Loose Change, The New World and A Few of our Favourite Things – or the public can visit the Shilstone Memorial Library and research their family’s history.

Admission is free for locals and CARICOM nationals with identification.

Additional information on the event may be obtained by contacting the Barbados Museum at 427-0201 or info@barbmuse.org.bb.
