A high level strategic dialogue on CARICOM – Vibrant Societies, Resilient Economies: A Partnership for Implementation will take place tomorrow, Thursday, July 2, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, will address the opening ceremony, while Commonwealth Secretary General, Kamalesh Sharma, will deliver remarks.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas will deliver a presentation on Vibrant Societies: Delivering on Human Development in the Post 2015 Development Agenda.??Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Dr. Kenny Anthony, will also make a presentation on the topic Resilient Economies: Caribbean Stability in the Global Economy.

This will be followed by interactive discussions involving Chairman of the CARICOM Commission on the Economy, Senator Darcy Boyce; Secretary General of the Caribbean Community, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque; President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. Warren Smith; Vice-Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Sir Hilary Beckles; UN Secretary General???s Special Advisor on Post-2015 Development Planning, Amina Mohammed; Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, Alicia Barcena and Dr. Leonard Nurse of the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies.

This high level strategic dialogue is being convened by the Government of Barbados, the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Development Bank, the University of the West Indies and the United Nations.
