A???? High Surf Advisory, as well as a small craft warning, is in effect for Barbados until Sunday, November 28.

To this end, Chief Fisheries Officer, Stephen Willoughby, has urged fishermen to secure their vessels, and to exhibit caution in venturing to sea.

A???? mid-day bulletin issued by the Meteorological Office today, advised that Barbados would be affected by large north-easterly swells and deteriorating sea conditions for the remainder of the week. A?? High Surf Advisory was, therefore, in effect for large battering waves and dangerous rip-currents, mainly along the island’s north, north-east and east coasts.

"These hazardous and rough seas, with swells peaking at about four metres (between Tuesday and Wednesday), will create unsafe conditions for small-craft. Seabathers and other users of the sea are also advised to stay out of the water," the bulletin stated.????cgaskin@barbados.gov.bb
