Staff from the various departments under the aegis of the Ministry of International Business and International Transport??will this weekend get some insight into the plight of persons infected with, and affected by, HIV and AIDS.

The opportunity comes as the Ministry hosts an HIV/AIDS Social Evening??this Saturday,??April 10, at 7:00 p.m.,??on the 2nd Floor of the Warrens Office Complex.????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Acting Minister of International Business and International Transport, Richard Sealy, is slated to deliver remarks at the opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

The social will comprise an informal reception, featuring entertainment aimed at raising awareness of HIV/AIDS.?? Double Laugh Theatre Productions, led by Jennifer Walker and Drama Konnection, led by Yvonne Weekes are expected to perform poignant pieces highlighting the stigma associated with the disease.

Entertainment will also be provided by the St. Lucy Secondary School Steel Orchestra, under the direction of Ryan Brathwaite, and there will be a musical interlude by Sylk Entertainment.?? The MC for the evening will be comedian and actor, Carl "Alff" Padmore.

Staff from the Ministry’s International Business and International Transport divisions, as well as from the Civil Aviation Department and Corporate Affairs will be among those attending the HIV/AIDS awareness event.
