The HIV Food Bank was given a helping hand this morning, with a donation of proceeds from the Home Expo 2012, which was recently held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The Home Expo featured a special Love, Poetry and Song: The Remix show; a collaborative effort between the Expo coordinators and the Barbados Government Information Service (BGIS) Internal HIV Education Committee, which sought to raise awareness and funds for the Food Bank.????

Manager of the HIV Food Bank, Stacia Whittaker, thanked Expo event coordinator, Ricardo Graham of Media Plus Limited, and the BGIS for "considering using the Home Expo as a way to donate… We are always in need of donations…

We are helping people to empower themselves, it is a community effort," she stressed.

Mr. Graham said: "We are extremely pleased to be involved with the HIV Food Bank drive this year and we will continue to support the drive because we think it is a very worthwhile cause… I implore other promoters… to come on board and play a part," he explained, adding that they intended to make a contribution again next year.
