Heads of Department of the Ministry of Housing and Lands and the National Housing Corporation will on Monday, March 23, take part in an awareness workshop organised by newly appointed HIV/AIDS Coordinator, Francia Best.

The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon, and will focus on HIV and AIDS and stigma and discrimination as workplace issues. The presenter will be Arlene Husbands from the Barbados Employers Federation.

The Federation plays a key role in sensitising employers about their responsibility to educate employees about health and safety issues, so as to create a better understanding of co-workers who may be infected with HIV.

This is the first event organised by Ms. Best, who is the fifth full-time HIV Coordinator employed by the Civil Service.
