Art enthusiasts and aficionados are being encouraged to view the Homecoming Exhibition at the Barbados Museum, featuring the outstanding Collection of H. Richard Sonis and Nancy S.K. Sonis.

The works of 26 Barbadian artists are also being featured in the exhibition, which opened earlier this week and runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays, and 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Some of the local artists displaying their paintings are: Hubert Brathwaite, Ras Ishi Butcher, Alison Chapman-Andrews, Bill Grace, Francis Griffith, Clifford Hobbs, Winston Kellman, Neville Legall, Goldie Spieler, Jill Walker, Oscar Walkes and David Skinner.

This is the first collection donated to the Barbados Museum which features over 20 artists using a variety of techniques and media. Some of the themes include pictures of early Barbadian scenes and landscapes, which have changed significantly, such as The Fairchild Street Market, A Street Scene at Oistins and The Chattel House at Dayrells Road.

Members of the public may call 427-0201 or email museum@caribsurf.com for additional information on the exhibition.??
