Minister of Housing and Lands, Michael Lashley has made arrangements for the island’s latest fire victims to be accommodated at Airlie Heights, Cave Hill, St. Michael. 

The Minister returned to Barbados on Sunday, after leading a delegation to the 22nd General Council Session of United Nations (UN) HABITAT in Kenya. He heard about the fatal fire that took the life of 10 year old Dabrico Douglas and has advised that the four families will be accommodated in recently built duplexes in Airlie Heights, Cave Hill, St. Michael.

“I was saddened to hear of the loss of yet another life to fire and [wish to] express sincere condolences to the families.  We want to assure the families and the public, however, that that we are putting arrangements in place to house the families,” he stated.

Mr. Lashley visited the affected area on Monday morning, leading a team from the Ministry, including the Deputy General Manager Lanette Napoleon-Young and the Chairman of the National Housing Corporation Marilyn Rice-Bowen.
