In recognition of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence, there will be a panel discussion this weekend focusing on the impact of violence on children.

The event, entitled: Domestic Violence and its Effect on our Children, will be held tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, at the George Lamming School, Flint Hall, St. Michael, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

It is being organised by the Barbados Mothers??? Union under the auspices of the Bureau of Gender Affairs.??

Panellists at the event will be Psychiatrist, Dr. Ermine Belle; Clinical Psychologist, Reverend Dr. Marcus Lashley; Senior Teacher at the George Lamming Primary School, Anthony Coward; and Deputy Director at the Child Care Board, Denise Nurse.

The 16 Days of Activism is an international campaign that begins on November 25 ??? the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and ends on December 10 ??? Human Rights Day.

This year, activities coordinated by the Bureau of Gender Affairs began earlier on November 18, and will end later on December 13.
