Members of the public are invited to come out under the stars, and enjoy a free movie night on Saturday, June 28, at the Deighton Griffith Secondary School playing field, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) and the Barbados Government Information Service, the movie night will feature interactive games designed to test the public???s readiness for the hurricane season.
A number of public service announcements on hurricane preparedness will be shown, and questions and queries about hazards will also be addressed during the evening.
Persons are encouraged to walk with blankets and chairs to enjoy the movie and participate in the educational activities.??Nine storms, four hurricanes and one major hurricane are predicted for the 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Under the theme: Keeping in touch with our Communities, the DEM is encouraging members of the public to ensure that they are prepared.
