Over $40,000 in computers and tablets will be presented to special needs units in the primary school system next week.

Variety the Children???s Charity, in its quest to empower the children of Barbados who are mentally and physically challenged, will make the presentation, next Friday, November 27, in the main conference room of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, at 10:00 a.m.

Executive Director of the Charity, Donnah Russell, will present the equipment to Acting Deputy Chief Education Officer, Joy Adamson, and make remarks. Senior Psychologist, Student Support Services Unit, Juanita Brathwaite-Wharton; and Programme Director of the Programme Coordinating Unit, Junior Burgess, will also be in attendance.

Variety the Children???s Charity of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is dedicated to assisting children in those territories who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged. The charity was founded in 1994 and its first major project here was the equipping of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at a cost of $1,000,000.
