Minister of Finance, Christopher Sinckler

Improvements to the quality and relevance of secondary and post-secondary education under the Skills for the Future Programme will be made possible with the signing of a US $20 million loan agreement.

The signing ceremony, between government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), takes place tomorrow, Friday, November 2, in Cabinet Office’s conference room, Government Headquarters, Bay Street, St. Michael, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Minister of Finance, Christopher Sinckler, will sign on behalf of government; while the IDB will be represented by Country Representative, Joel Branski.

The specific objectives of the project, which is one of the components of government’s Human Resource Development Strategy, include: garnering support for an employer-driven training system; support for improving the teaching of core skills; institutional strengthening; business plan development and implementation; and leadership training and capacity building.
