Strengthening the links between agriculture and tourism will come into focus over the next three days, when the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the CARICOM Secretariat, host a conference on tourism and agriculture.

The meeting, under the theme: Agriculture and Tourism Working Together – A Strong Business Opportunity for the Region, gets under way from tomorrow, Tuesday, September 20, to Thursday, September 22, at Barbados Hilton, Needhams Point, St. Michael, starting at 8:30 a.m, each day.

The conference is expected to bring together technocrats from the Ministries of Tourism, Agriculture and Trade from 15 CARICOM Member States, as well as entrepreneurs with an interest and investment in the trade of agricultural goods and services with tourism.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Senator Jepter Ince, will deliver the feature address. There will also be presentations from countries in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Northern and Southern Caribbean.
