Children who might have missed measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), polio or chickenpox vaccinations will be offered immunisations this Saturday, January 26, when the Eunice Gibson polyclinic hosts its first community outreach event for the year.

Parents and guardians are being urged to take advantage of this opportunity to bring their children’s immunisation status up to date, and are reminded to bring along their immunisation card or book to the event, which will run from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.

Nurses will be also be on hand to give advice on preventing or managing non-communicable diseases and sexually transmitted infections, and will provide breast screening and information on mental health.?? There will also be entertainment for children.

This effort is part of the Ministry of Health’s thrust to maintain immunisation coverage averages at 95 per cent and above.
