Primary school students will have an opportunity to showcase their skills and talent in the area of singing, when the inaugural Junior Choir Festival Competition is held this year.

The event is being hosted by CUB Productions and has the blessings of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

It aims to encourage young students to see themselves not only as singers but members of a group whose voices, when blended together, can provide entertainment for school mates and their community.

Preliminaries for the competition will be held on Saturday, September 26, in the auditorium at Harrison College, Crumpton Street, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.??It will be a fun day affair with art and craft on display and various tents and booths for the entertainment of parents and adults.

The semifinals and finals will take place on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 25, respectively.??Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and the musical director of the winning school will also be recognised.
