The 2009 income tax return and reverse tax credit forms which must be submitted to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) by individual taxpayers on or before April 30, can now be accessed on-line at https://etax.ird.gov.bb.

Word of this has come from Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Sabina Walcott-Denny, who stressed that electronic filing of returns was the preferred option to be

adopted by taxpayers. She noted, however, that manual filing remained an available alternative for the 2009 income year, without the requirement for supporting documentation.

The Commissioner advised that from next Monday, March 15, those taxpayers who chose to file manually could collect the relevant forms from the IRD’s new Resource Centre. Located on the Fifth Floor, National Insurance Building, Fairchild Street, Bridgetown, the Centre will be opened from Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Taxpayers can also visit the Resource Centre to file returns on-line, and have any tax-related queries answered. In addition, assistance will be given to corporations, business entities and other third party information providers in the uploading of their information to the IRD, with respect to their customers and employees.
