From midnight tonight, Sunday, December 6, consumers will be paying more for gasoline, diesel and kerosene.

These increases, as explained by the Division of Energy, are in line with "government’s policy of allowing retail prices to be reflective of those on the international market."

??The retail price of gasoline will move from $2.28 to $2.36 per litre; diesel will go up from $2.02 to $2.09 per litre; and kerosene will go from $1.25 to $1.31 per litre.??

The upward adjustments are: $0.08 per litre for gasoline, $0.07 per litre for diesel, and $0.06 per litre in the case of kerosene.

An official mechanism is in place that allows for the regulation of petroleum prices in a timely manner. As a result, prices are adjusted monthly by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce on the advice of the Division of Energy.

The retail prices of petroleum products will therefore fluctuate in accordance with their landed costs.??
