There has been a slight increase in the price of gasoline.

Effective midnight, Saturday, April 4, the retail price of gasoline will be increased by four cents, from $1.90 per litre, to $1.94 per litre. However, the price of diesel and kerosene has been adjusted downwards by five cents and three cents, respectively and will now be retailed at $1.62 and 88 cents.

Meanwhile, there has been a further reduction in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). From midnight, Saturday, April 4, the retail price of LPG will be reduced from $122.47 per 100-pound cylinder to $119.09, a reduction of $3.38; the 25-pound cylinder will drop by 85 cents from $33.21 to $32.36 and the 20-pound cylinder will go from $26.56 to $25.89 – a saving of 67 cents.

At a meeting on June 5, Cabinet had instituted a mechanism to adjust petroleum prices on a monthly basis in keeping with international trends as it related to the pricing of petroleum products.
