As celebrations continue in honour of this island’s 45th anniversary of Independence, Barbadians are being encouraged to attend the National Independence Ecumenical Service which will be held this Sunday, November 27, in Independence Square, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The annual ceremony will focus on Resolving our Challenges as a Family and Achieving as a Nation. It will be officiated by the Bishop of Barbados, the Most Rev. Dr. the Hon. John Holder and Monsignor Vincent Blackett, among others, while Canon Noel Burke will be the Chief Celebrant.

This year’s event will once again be preceded by a youth procession from Jubilee Gardens in the City. Approximately 500 young people from various youth organisations are expected to participate in the march.

In event of inclement weather the Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
