The Index of Retail Prices for July 2013 stood at 166.3 points, representing an increase of 0.1 per cent when compared with the 166.1 points recorded the previous month.

Increases of 1.0 per cent were recorded for Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; 0.6 per cent for Food; 0.3 per cent for Transportation; and 0.1 per cent for Housing as well as Medical and Personal Care.

Decreases of 2.5 per cent were recorded for Fuel and Light; and 0.3 per cent for Clothing and Footwear. Household Operations and Supplies, as well as Education,

Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant.Between July 2012 and July 2013, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 2.7 per
cent, from 162.0 points to 166.3 points, while the average inflation rate for that period was 2.1 per cent.
