The Index of Retail Prices for July 2015 stood at 169.5 points, representing an increase of 0.1 per cent when compared with the 169.3 points recorded the previous month.

According to data produced by the Barbados Statistical Service, increases were recorded for Food by 1.2 per cent; Clothing and Footwear by 0.4 per cent; Household Operations and Supplies by 0.2 per cent; and Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous by 0.1 per cent.

Declines were registered for Fuel and Light by 6.1 per cent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco by 1.0 per cent; Medical and Personal Care by 0.5 per cent; and Housing and Transportation by 0.1 per cent each.

Between July 2014 and July 2015, the Index of Retail Prices decreased by 0.3 per cent, from 170.0 to 169.5 points. The average inflation rate for that period was 0.8 per cent.
