The Index of Retail Prices for June 2013 stood at 166.1 points, representing a decrease of 0.1 per cent when compared with the 166.2 points recorded in May 2013.

Increases of 0.8 per cent were recorded for Clothing and Footwear; 0.5 per cent for Household Operations and Supplies and 0.3 per cent for Food.

Decreases of 1.6 per cent were recorded for Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; 1.5 per cent for Fuel and Light; 0.5 per cent for Transportation; and 0.2 per cent for Housing.

The index for Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous, as well as Medical and Personal Care remained constant.

Between June 2012 and June 2013, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 1.8 per cent from 163.1 points to 166.1 points. The average inflation rate for that 12-month period was 2.1 per cent.
