The Index of Retail Prices for June 2014 stood at 169.2 points, representing an increase of 0.3 per cent when compared with the 168.7 points recorded the previous month.

Increases of 0.9 per cent were recorded for Food; 0.8 per cent for Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco; 0.7 per cent for Fuel and Light; and 0.3 per cent for Clothing and Footwear.

Decreases were recorded for Transportation and Medical and Personal Care by 0.6 per cent each. Housing, as well as Household Operations and Supplies decreased by 0.1 per cent each.

Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant over the period.??Between June 2013 and June 2014, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 1.9 per cent from 166.1 points to 169.2 points. The average inflation rate for the 12-month period was 1.7 per cent.
