The Index of Retail Prices for June 2015 stood at 169.3 points, representing an increase of 1.0 per cent when compared with the 167.6 points recorded the previous month.

According to data produced by the Barbados Statistical Service, increases were recorded for Fuel and Light by 4.7 per cent; Transportation by 2.0 per cent; Food by 1.0 per cent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco by 0.6 per cent; Household Operations and Supplies by 0.5 per cent; Housing by 0.2 per cent and Medical and Personal Care by 0.1 per cent.

A decline was registered for Clothing and Footwear by 0.1 per cent, while Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant during the period.??Between June 2014 and June 2015, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 0.1 per cent from 169.2 to 169.3 points. The average inflation rate for that period was 1.0 per cent.
