The Index of Retail Prices for October 2010 remained constant at 144.3 points when compared with September 2010.

Increases were recorded for Fuel and Light by 1.3 per cent; Food by 0.5 per cent; and Household Operations and Supplies by 0.3 per cent.??

Decreases were registered for Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco by 1.0 per cent; Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous 0.6 per cent; Medical and Personal Care by 0.6 per cent; Transportation by 0.6 per cent; Clothing and Footwear by 0.6 per cent; and Housing by 0.5 per cent.

Between October 2009 and October 2010, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 4.1 per cent from 138.6 points to 144.3 points.

The average inflation rate for the twelve month period October 2009 to October 2010 was 5.4 per cent.
