The Index of Retail Prices for March 2013 stood at 165.0 points which represents a decrease of 0.5 per cent when compared with February’s 2013 index of 165.8 points.

Amongst the major groups: Food decreased by 2.3 points or 1.2 per cent. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco decreased by 0.3 of a point or 0.2 per cent. Housing decreased by 1.3 points or 0.8 per cent. Fuel and Light increased by 1.5 points or 0.8 per cent, while Household Operations and Supplies remained constant. Clothing and Footwear decreased by 0.9 of a point or 0.9 per cent. Transportation increased by 0.4 of a point or 0.3 per cent. Medical and Personal Care increased by 1.3 points or 0.8 per cent.

However, Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant.
