The Index of Retail Prices for November 2012 stood at 165.5 points.?? This represented an increase of 0.2 per cent when compared with the 164.4 points for October 2012.

Increases of 1.7 per cent were recorded for Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous; Housing – 1.1 per cent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco – 0.5 per cent; Transportation – 0.3 per cent; Food – 0.2 per cent and Medical and Personal Care – 0.1 per cent.

Decreases of 0.8 per cent were recorded for Fuel and Light; Clothing and Footwear – 0.8 per cent; while Household Operations and Supplies moved downward by 0.6 per cent.

Between November 2011 and November 2012, the Index of Retail Prices increased by 2.5 per cent from 161.5 points to 165.5 points.?? The average inflation rate for the 12-month period November 2011 to 2012 was 5.1 per cent.
