The longest surviving integration grouping among developed nations will be celebrated during an inter-faith service organised by the Organisation of Caribbean Associations (OCAB).
The service, under the patronage of CARICOM Ambassador, Robert Morris, will be held on Sunday, October 20, at the St. Patrick???s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Jemmott???s Lane, St. Michael, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will address the service which has as its theme: Celebrating CARICOM Unity.
The service is being held in response to a call from CARICOM leaders to bring the work of the organisation and it???s Secretariat to the people of the region; while emphasising that the organisations were people centered and not only had a narrow focus on trade and economic development.
OCAB???s members comprise nationals living in Barbados; Jamaica; Guyana; Trinidad and Tobago; Grenada; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; St. Kitts and Nevis; Belize; Dominica and St. Lucia.
The group???s activities include: organising joint activities for the interaction of citizens; encouraging Caribbean residents to support and participate in festivities sponsored by their respective national associations; promote inter-cultural exchanges within the Caribbean region; and to facilitate interaction and cooperation with cultural/social associations in Barbados and participate in the activities.
