Efforts are on to foster closer relations between the Ministry of International Business and stakeholders of the International and Financial Services Sectors.

Minister of International Business, Donville Inniss, met on Wednesday with representatives of the Barbados Bar Association, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados and the Barbados International Business Association to discuss a range of issues affecting the sectors.

The Minister was joined by senior staff of the International Business Unit and the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO).??

Describing the near three-hour meeting as ???productive and robust???, the Minister said it was another opportunity to address the major challenges facing the industry; to put heads together with the view to finding solutions; as well to improve relations between the relevant stakeholders and the Ministry.

Some of the issues discussed included practices and procedures in CAIPO and the International Business Unit; online communication; the functions of the notary public; marketing the sector; banking issues; and new legislation required.??He further stated that he was looking forward to similar exchanges and fruitful dialogue, given the great importance of the International Business sector to Barbados??? economy.
